Hilfsprojekte für jesidische Geflüchtete im Irak

This year, for the first time since 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to Iraqi Kurdistan again – a region I have visited many times before and that has become very dear to me. During my two stays in April and November, I carried out several small aid projects together with some friends.

One of the projects was the distribution of hygiene kits to 400 children in the “Our Bridge” educational project. The families of the children, who grow up in difficult conditions, often cannot afford to buy basic hygiene products, which are often taken for granted in many other parts of the world.

Another project took place in the Yazidi refugee camp in Khanke, where we were able to provide particularly needy families with water filters. Clean water is essential for health, and providing these filters can help improve the quality of life of the people, even if just a little.

In November, we also arranged gas heaters for families in Khanke who are particularly dependent on a reliable heat source during the cold winter months. The electricity often goes out in the refugee camp, leaving people sitting in the cold for hours. Since the government provides gas to the families in the camps, these heaters are an affordable alternative to electric heaters. However, many families cannot afford the heaters themselves.

Below, I would like to share some pictures from these projects and sincerely thank everyone who has supported us with their donations.

For anyone who would like to support us with future projects, here is more information: Current Donation Projects.

Every small step counts, and together we can make a difference. Thank you!
